1962 Impala '409' SS Lightweight, extremely rare Chevy, 1 of only 2 known to exist of a total of the 18 factory built drag cars in 1962, (according to NHRA), for sure this is a real car with history well known, many, many articles about this specific car domestically and as far away as Japan, true collector quality, most original, factory "lightweight" 409 Super Sport Impala, aluminum front fenders and wheel wells, aluminum hood, came with stock dual carb Turbo-Fire 409 engine, upgraded to Z11, with block 3795623, which was the aluminum two piece, super hi-rise intake manifold, 38147881, Carter AFB carbs with front 3361s and rear 3362s, mechanical lifter camshaft with matching valve springs, 730 cylinder heads 3814690, raised, rectangular intake ports, completely original white with red bench interior, trunk mats still glued to floor pan from the factory, all original weather strips, chrome and all exterior moldings, original factory Sun tachometer was moved from the steering column to the dash and converted to Transistor mechanism, originally shipped to the Zintsmaster Chevrolet dealership in Kokomo, Indiana, after being assembled July 31, 1962 in Flint, Michigan, original Borg-Warner T-10 4-speed manual transmission, original 4.56:1 Posi-traction rear end, metallic brakes, produces approximately 500hp with S&S headers and a Z-11 camshaft, low miles, top original, show condition, investment quality with top mechanicals, one of the most original and most documented cars from this very important time in the history of factory built race cars, www.fraserdante.com
